Healing, Then Hustling Again

After last week’s emotional rollercoaster, week eight started on a different note - a little stronger, a little steadier. Not fully perfect, but better. This week felt like balancing two worlds: the fast-paced chaos of work and the calm comfort of being home. Somewhere between deadlines and train journeys, I found a rhythm again.

Day 1 - Just Two of Us Against the Workload

Monday came in full force - work, work, and more work. Videos, statics, endless tasks… and fewer people. Half the team was unavailable because of elections and IPL shifts, which meant it was just two of us handling everything - me and Sarah (our SSM). It felt intense, but also a little empowering. Like okay, this is pressure… but we can handle it. And we did.

Day 2 - Chill… Until It Wasn’t

Day two started smoothly. I experimented with new layouts, finished most of my work in the first half itself, and for once, felt ahead of schedule. I even thought, “Maybe today I’ll leave early.” Cute thought. At 6:40 PM, just when I was about to wrap up - new work dropped in. Of course.
Plans cancelled, designer mode back on, and I stayed to finish it. Because that’s the rule - work doesn’t care about your exit timing.

Day 3 - Deadlines First, Then a Train Story

The plan was simple: finish work early and leave for my hometown. And I actually managed to do it. But the real adventure started after -travelling in a general ticket because my reservation didn’t get confirmed. Not ideal… but definitely an experience. Slight chaos, slight discomfort, but also one of those moments that makes you feel like, okay, life is happening.

Day 4 - Voting, Work & Adjusting to Change

Started the day by doing something important - casting my vote. After that, it was back to work, but this time from home. Working from home always feels softer, especially with family around and good food within reach. But the day wasn’t entirely smooth — our team leader was changing, which meant adjusting to a new style, new expectations, and trying to stay aligned. It had its ups and downs, but I was doing my best to adapt.

Day 5 - WFH = More Work??

No other designer. Just me. And all the work.
Videos, posts, carousels - everything landed on my plate. And for some reason, work-from-home days always feel heavier than office days. Like why??

By the end of the day, I was completely exhausted. The kind of tired where even your thoughts slow down. But still… everything got done.

Closure - From Shy to Seen

Despite the workload and exhaustion, this week felt good. Not because it was easy - but because I was home. Being around my people, eating good food, feeling that summer vacation energy… it balanced everything out. Work was still chaotic, deadlines were still there, but emotionally, I felt lighter.

Sometimes, all you need isn’t less work - just more comfort around it.
